What is this all about? The FIRST Robotics Competition is an exciting, multinational competition that teams professionals and young people together to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way. The competitions have all the action of a major sporting event, and the feel and attitude of a rock concert - complete with music and lighting effects… and it’s FUN!

When is the competition taking place? San Diego will be holding it’s second annual regional event at the San Diego Sports Arena in beautiful San Diego California on Friday and Saturday, March 7th and 8th, 2008 (Doors open at 8:00 AM). This event is truly something you have to experience in person in order to fully appreciate! Admission to the event is FREE! Please come and join us for some intense robotic action!

Where is the event being held? The San Diego Sports Arena is located at 3500 Sports Arena Blvd, San Diego, California 92110. It is less than 5 miles from the San Diego International Airport, and there are plenty of nearby Hotels and Restaurants. A major Public Transportation Terminal is a little over one mile away at the Old Town Station (use Bus routes 8 and 9).

Who can attend? The San Diego Qualcomm Regional FIRST Robotics Competition is open to the public, and admission is FREE. Parents, Kids, Young Adults, Teachers, Principals, as well as people working in the fields of Science, Technology, and Engineering—just to name a few—will find these competitions especially entertaining. Come see how we make learning FUN!
